Miser's Final Wish
This short story is funny and smart. This wife had good sense.
There was a man who had worked all of his life and had saved all of his money. He was a real miser when it came to his money. He loved money more than just about anything, and just before he died, he said to his wife, "Now listen, when I die, I want you to take all my money and place it in the casket with me. I wanna take my money to the afterlife." So he got his wife to promise him with all her heart that when he died, she would put all the money in the casket with him. Well, one day he died. He was stretched out in the casket, the wife was sitting there in black next to her closest friend. When they finished the ceremony, just before the undertakers got ready to close the casket, the wife said "Wait just a minute!" she had a shoe box with her, she came over with the box and placed it in the casket. Then the undertakers locked the casket down and rolled it away. Her friend said, "I hope you weren't crazy enough to put all that money in the casket." She said, "Yes, I promised. I'm a good christian, I can't lie. I promised him that I was going to put that money in that casket with him." "You mean to tell me you put every cent of his money in the casket with him?" "I sure did, " said the wife. "I got it all together, put it into my account and I wrote him a check."

I'm slacking again.....and reasons why
As I am in my dorm room, I realized that I finally am doing work ahead of time so I will be prepared. This semester, I have been slacking and it is taking a toll on my grades. I believe the reason I am slacking is because I give up too easily and do not believe in myself or push myself to do better. I was doing good at keeping myself in my books at the first beginning of this year. What I did not understand was that no matter how much I kept my head in my books, I usually froze up on tests and forget everything. I was stressing myself out and I did worse on my tests. I was still trying, hoping that I make a good grade until I made a miserable grade on my algebra test. It took my grade from a B to failure. After that, I gave up hope and, pretty much, just made whatever on my tests. Plus, while letting myself slip, I was depending more on guys to make me feel better but that was short lived. With all this happening, my mind was tired and stressed and I was on the verge of giving up. I been missing classes and not giving a care about them because I thought that I could not do good with any class, which made me depressed. But this Saturday, it was different. With all this going on, I just laid out and stayed in my room the whole day, taking a break and freeing my mind from all this worrying. I feel even better since I went to church today also. I just needed a church in me since I have not been going like I should lol. Now, I feel better and believe I can make it. I probably will not have the grades I want. I just do not want to fail another class. I will try to make it to all my classes on time from now on and do better for the summer and help my GPA.

What is wrong with me?
I do not know what is going on with me but this school year is not the best for me. For some strange reason, I am not doing as good as I want to on my school work. I am trying but it is not working. It seems like I know the information but when it is time to take a test on it, my mind goes blank. For example, I had a math test last week. Before the test, I was doing well on my homework and good on my quizzes. The last test I had was a reasonable score. It did not bring my overall average down much. After I took the first test, my average was a B. That is good and I was trying to maintain that B. After the test, I was still doing good on the homework and quizzes, even though I had a little trouble figuring out some of the problems. The information was in my brain. The night before, I looked over the chapters that the test were going to be on, making sure that I understood the problems and the solutions. I probably should have looked at the chapters that whole week. Finally, the test date came. I looked at the problems and my mind became dumb. I was struggling with some of the problems and the others were okay. I made a grade so low that it dropped my grade down to failure. I was thinking, "All that work I put in to maintain this B and this one test dropped it so low that I could fail this course." I am going to work twice as hard to pass. My mind went blank on my biology test, even though I studied for it. I did not even look at my test score that is posted up on the wall. My chemistry lab quizzes, I do the same thing. I could understand the material but when it is put in front of me, I look dumbfounded. It is the same way with all my other classes that require tests. I need to pray harder and study more. If that do not work, then I would not know what to do.

My Long Weekend
As of right now, I am sitting at my computer writing in my blog for the week watching Miss Evers' Boys on the Lifetime network. That is a strange way to start off a long weekend. I am tired right now but I do not mind being this way. I can finally relax in my room because the most of the girls on my dorm hall are gone. No noise whatsoever!!! I can feast on my groceries and set up my online banking account. I had a nap today. I did me okay but I had to get up and handle some business. I have a bank account now. I am proud of myself. Not only that, I was able to buy some groceries and everything else that I need. It has been so long since I had my side full of groceries.
Tomorrow, I am going to get my hair done. Someone professional will finally be able to do my hair. My hair need immediate treatment quickly. Having their hands going through my hair is so relaxing and knowing that they are trying to help it grow back is making me feel even better. Saturday is a day of rest. I need to rest for the night because we are going to see Madea Goes To Jail. Everybody going to be in there, especially since it is one of Tyler Perry's movies. His movies are GOOD!!! People have to get their ticket early because they sell out easily.
Sunday is a day of the Sabbath. I am going to church since we need the prayer for our trip on the road. By that time, I would have my clothes packed and everything else I need to go on our trip to New Orleans. I probably won't go to bed early but at least I will have some sort of sleep. Monday and Tuesday is New Orleans trip. Mardi Gras is on that Tuesday!!! We are so excited. We are going to have so much fun catching beads and celebrating. That is why we have a hotel room for to rest. It has been so long since I went to New Orleans. I am going to make this trip be worth the money that I gave my friend for the hotel. That weekend going to be gone before I even know it. SHOOT!!!!

My Thoughts on the Inauguration
My thoughts on the inauguration are very crazy. Even though I wasn't able to see it due to a scheduled class during the time of it, history was made. It is good to have someone black as the President of the United States. That opened the door for other ethnic groups. I am glad that Barack Obama is now our president and I congratulate him. All I know is that he better not mess up and leave broken promises. That's how George Bush got on my bad side. Anyway, his wife looked good for to be her age, but did you see that dress she had on. I know it probably was expensive when they were discussing all the fabric that went into that dress, but all that yellow was uncalled for. I never heard of a color called lemongrass yellow. That brooch she had on her neck was lovely. Now that was pretty to look at. It would've been too flashy to see him in a lemongrass yellow suit. When I was able to see a little bit of what happened, I saw the parade. They had all kinds of bands on there. One of the close bands called Petal High School was on there. It was good until I saw the gay and lesbian parade. I was just thinking, "I believe I saw everything." Anyway, he spoke with confidence at the inauguration, having the feeling of winning over people's hearts. The previews of the inauguration were almost on every channel that I was watching. I was quite tired of it.

My Holiday Away From School
When I left school that lovely snowy day of December the 12th, I felt like I was leaving something behind. It was my freedom. I was thinking about not seeing my friends and not having places to go. I was also thinking that, at least, I'll be able to spend time with my family. Getting home wasn't nothing since I slept the whole day. I stayed at home for the rest of the night. I rarely got out unless I had to. I visited my mother and father's side of the family. It was good seeing them again but I had to end my day at the house, doing nothing but watching TV and playing Sudoku. I did that at least a week straight. My friends and I would talk, text message, and comment on each other's Facebook about us missing each other. My Christmas break was too long. I was bored. Me being bored made the gas hand in the car gradually drop everyday. I met my friend from Nashville and spent the day with him. At least I had fun while I was out with him. We were in K-Mart, playing Guitar Hero. I was playing the guitar and he was singing with laryngitis. That was LOUD!!! I was bored once again until Christmas came. I finally got my ring that I wanted and worn it with pride, even though in was two times bigger in size. I was excited to be around my family and having a good time. I didn't miss the food they served at school. I was looking forward to Christmas dinner!! Anyway, I played Rock Band with my cousins and had a great time. After that day, it was the same, old routine again. I was missing friends and waiting for the next year to get here. We celebrated New Year's Day at church. It was nice to start your year inside the church. After that day, I'm waiting for the weekend to come. I finally have my car fixed and I will be driving back. I was too happy. I believe my parents didn't want to let me go. I packed my stuff, they prayed over me, and I was on my way back to school where I was welcomed with a warm hug by a special somebody.
